We are currently looking for a Product Line Manager to join the Thales Avionics, a subsidiary of Thales USA team in Irvine, CA.

To be successful in the IFEC Business, strong Product Policy is of paramount importance:
• Go-to-Market requires good anticipation (development timeline, offerability process induced delays) while the Market requires fast pace evolution, in-sync with the Consumer market technology and behaviors trends
• Highly Competitive Market requires re-use and differentiators
• Limited resources (funding, human) require arbitration in the development to be launched.

It is the responsibility of the Product Policy organization to properly address these requirements. Failure to deliver could dramatically impact Thales’ Business position.

In this context, the Product Line Manager plays a key role by defining the strategy, the roadmap, the Value Proposition of the Building Blocks under his/her responsibility, as well as by optimizing the portfolio for increased affordability and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reference for Market knowledge on trends, competition, partner base, etc
• Responsible to write MCRD - Consolidate Reqs from Value Chains/services into a MCRD
• Development Program Manager primary point of contact
• Propose roadmap / optimize roadmap based on Solution, Services and Value Chains reqs
• Responsible for collateral (in compliance with guidelines provided by Platform and Solution PLM)
• Support Bid process (second tier after the Solution PLM)
• Manages Product Life Cycle from Market Studies to Withdrawal
• Formally accept Solutions from Engineering teams (“PLM-FSAT”) Manages the operational offer ability process & OEM relationship
• Main interfaces: Solution and Services PLM, Value Chain PLMs – Design Authority PL, PDA & DPM

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in field with 10+ years’ experience or Master’s degree in field with 6+ years’ experience, or equivalent experience.
• Experience shall include Products (versus Bespoke solutions) as well as Customer interface (such as Sales, Bids, Program execution, Marketing, etc) and Business and Marketing acumen (such as Sales, Bids, Marketing)
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
