We are currently looking for a Director of Reliability Availability Maintainability Testability Engineering to join the Thales Avionics, a subsidiary of Thales USA team in Irvine, CA or Melbourne, FL.
The mission of the RAMT engineering team is to ensure that the required level of Reliability, Maintainability, Availability and Testability is reached according to customer/market requirements and Thales needs for all Thales InFlyt Experience products.
The Director RAMT Engineering Leads the following Chorus activities: • RAMT Engineer • Integrated Logistics Support • Logistics Studies Manager
The Director RAMT Engineering is responsible for defining strategies that deliver world class levels of Engineering service and support exceeding customer expectations. He/She is responsible for the strategic planning of system performance measurement tools and drive product definition to lower cost of support for all Thales InFlyt Experience product lines. This leader is accountable for development, deployment, and management of the relevant System performance business solutions (software and hardware) as well as generation and dissemination of approved technical data for use for these solutions. Additionally, this leader must foster a collaborative and effective relationship between their team and the Services, Engineering and Program/Product management teams that they support. He/She is responsible for maintaining strong cost control and maximizing profit margins. He/she is expected to identify and deliver growth and competitiveness to the business while simultaneously developing high performing teams.
• Directly Manages 10 to 20 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. • Leads bi-costal teams in analyzing problems, making recommendations, defining priorities and implementing solutions • Lead the development and deployment of the RAMT activity in the Thales InFlyt Experience Business unit • Overall responsible of the serviceability (customer contract compliance and/or Thales Service cost benefits) of the Thales InFlyt Experience products during their design and developments by providing requirement, analysis and support to the development teams. • Ensures coordination and synergies between the Services, Development Engineering , PM and PLM teams • Relies on extensive knowledge of related disciplines to assist in the application of principles, theories, and concepts; assures continuity of conceptual features. • Highly regarded for technical expertise and the ability to communicate issues. • Is able to influence internal / external customers. • Leads the development of medium- and long-range objectives, develops strategic and tactical plans, and schedules to accomplish objectives; regularly involves others to accomplish objectives.
Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or ten (10) years’ experience in electronics, automotive, train or avionics industry • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the Thales culture, that is, exhibit the values of Compliance, Respect, Innovation, Responsibility and Teamwork. • Must have Managerial experience • Have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. • Have strong technical writing skills. • Have good comprehension of statistical principles. • Be results oriented. • Have the ability to work in a team environment.
