Energy Impact Partners LP is seeking an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) & Impact Associate to work on the ESG team, based in New York, New York. This role is remote at least until January 2022.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Support EIP’s ESG initiatives, including:
    • ESG due diligence for new investment opportunities
    • Coordinate directly with portfolio companies to collect ESG data
    • Co-author EIP’s annual ESG & Impact Performance Report
    • Track industry developments in ESG trends
    • Support EIP’s LP ESG Advisory Board
  • Respond to investors’ due diligence requests related to ESG
  • Develop investor-facing materials including reporting of ESG and impact-related data to assess industry best practices across the organization
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm on projects to support the successful implementation of the firm’s overall investing strategy
  • Ad hoc projects related to ESG processes and reporting

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in ESG and Master’s degree at a top academic institution in sustainability or a related field required
  • Education and experience include quantitative measurement of carbon emissions and other environmental impact measures
  • Familiarity with ESG data sources and ESG evaluation processes
  • Proven data management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office, Excel, and PPT skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and humility
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player and a passion for learning
  • The ability to work independently, effectively multi-task, manage deadlines, learn quickly, and possess superior attention to detail
  • Good oral, writing, and visual communication skills
  • High IQ, EQ and ethical standards
