IT Support Specialist

Optoro is looking for a highly motivated IT Support Specialist who will apply their innovative ideas to helping to keep our internal technology running smoothly. We hire people not only based on what they already know, but based on what they are learning and their hunger to deliver and to keep expanding their skills!

The IT Support Specialist will interface with other employees within Optoro, providing troubleshooting and customer service to both our corporate and operations offices. The IT Support Specialist will also be responsible for planning future technical demands and acting as a liaison between employees and other technical departments. This position is ideal for a self-starter who is interested in working in an exciting, fast-growing environment.

We need our IT specialists to be versatile, entrepreneurial, and enthusiastic to tackle new problems within the reverse logistics industry as we continue to push our technology forward each day.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-user support services, troubleshooting assistance, and problem resolution for hardware and software related issues in a timely manner for over 200 employees
  • Track and manage inventory life cycles of office technical equipment
  • Manage software licenses and act as liaison with external vendors for contracted warranty and repair demands
  • Manage internal support ticketing system
  • Plan and execute hardware refreshes and retrieve quotes as needed
  • Ensure office technology is in operating order and inventory levels are appropriate
  • Manage office network configuration, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
  • Contribute to the company’s overall technical strategy, anticipating and planning for the future needs of a growing company
  • Maintain overall IT equipment reliability, providing solutions where possible and providing reporting as needed
  • Conduct security audits and checks, own access to the server and secure facilities in the DC office, and implement proactive measures to protect technology assets
  • Maintain and grow knowledge of IT and security best practices to improve the overall function and internal training initiatives
  • Work with the Talent & Culture for onboarding & offboarding employees; train new and existing employees on equipment and programs
  • Perform other duties as determined by your Manager

Requirements

  • 4+years of IT support experience
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software applications and technologies
  • Ability to maintain and track inventory databases and other records accurately
  • Ability to effectively track and prioritize technical issues
  • Ability to operate independently under minimal supervision
  • Ability to execute against multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high-quality work
  • Effectively interact with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive customer service orientation
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows (XP and newer) and Mac OS required; Linux experience a plus
  • Experience with networking
  • Ability to carry and move equipment up to 50lbs required
