We are currently looking for a Cyber Security Engineer for our Thales AvionicsMelbourne Florida. The Cyber Security Engineer must be capable of integrating the system security measures in accordance with the system design and proposed architecture. Must be able to collaborate on any system security requirement adjustments and work to integrate the system security requirements within their specialty.

  • Analyzing, designing, prototyping, and implementing security in systems
  • Computer and network security engineering
  • Linux system administration
  • Routing and Switching
  • Network Scanning and Monitoring
  • End-Point-Protection
  • Cross Domain Solution
  • Secure Operating Systems
  • Wireless and handheld device security technologies
  • Virtual Private Network (VPN) encryption technologies
  • Computer Network Defense technologies, such as Intrusion Detection
Skills and Experience:
  • Networking knowledge (down to a packet level):
  • Competent with using Wireshark
  • Understanding of 802.1Q
  • Linux admin knowledge:
  • package management
  • IPTables competency
  • Linux system administration / network engineering:
  • Ability to keep Linux up to date with latest bug/security patches
  • Ability to install/configure 3rd party software (i.e. Apache, tomcat, nginx, DDS, dhcp, ipsec)
  • Ability to assist with managing SELinux policies
  • Ability to help define and configure the network settings in the different LRUs
  • Ability to help developers with all the networking details associated with the product (i.e. setting up routes, setting up VPNs, etc)
  • Ability to help define and manage firewalls
  • SELinux and SW Development knowledge C++ is preferred
Desired Qualifications:
  • Three (3) to 2 years’ experience with C programming
  • Experience with testing frameworks (i.e. google test), mocking frameworks (i.e. google mock), static analysis tools (i.e. CppCheck), and test driven development.
  • Experience with compilers (e.g. GCC), debuggers (e.g. GDB), bug-tracking (e.g. Jira) and source code management tools (e.g. Stash) or similar required skills and/or experience with specific tools, equipment, computer hardware or software, etc.
  • Avionics or In Flight Entertainment (IFE) experience is a plus
