As an early technical lead in Forward’s growing hardware engineering team, you will have a key role in shaping and implementing the renovation of our country’s most important and most broken industry from first principles.

Forward is redesigning the way we deliver healthcare, using all the technologies healthcare has historically neglected.   • Be the technical lead of hardware fabrication at Forward.
  • Own (specify, implement, optimize, test, improve) the fabrication engineering portion of many complex cutting-edge production medical devices.
  • Assist in the industrial, mechanical, and fabrication design and implementation of R&D devices including CAD design, production drawings, vendor management, etc).
  • Launch, install, support, maintain devices across a national company.
  • Interact and lead outside contractors and services to gain more leverage as needed.
  • Your work will directly contribute to improving and saving lives. For real.
  • B.S. or higher in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years hands-on professional design and fabrication experience.
  • Expert at design documentation, 2D & 3D fabrication drawing generation following ASME standards, bill of materials, and working with outside vendors.
  • Experienced in a wide breadth of the greater engineering and fabrication problem space, having deep knowledge of all basic fabrication processes (machining, sheet metal, casting, woodworking, 3D printing, PCB, etc) and exposure to many less-common processes (coatings, finishing methods, etc).
  • Multiple complex high-quality products previously delivered and in use, ideally on accelerated schedules and with excellent production quality and robustness.
