We are currently looking for a Bid Manger to join the Thales Avionics, a subsidiary of Thales USA team inIrvine, CA.

TheBid Manager plays a significant role in contributing to the company’s annual revenues and order intake through the successful development of commercially compelling bids and proposals which become program awards to Thales InFlyt Experience. In addition, the Thales Bid Manager is also key to ensuring bottom line profitability for awarded programs through the comprehensive cost buildup activity applied throughout the bid process; ensuring that bids provide adequate budget to allow program execution in accordance with the expectations set by our proposals to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively manage a multi-disciplined team in the timely development and submission of multiple, concurrent contract- winning bids and proposals that include, among other items, Compliance Matrices, Program Master Schedules, Weight and Power spread sheets, Bid Control Documents (P&L;) and Pricing and descriptive verbiage
  • Work with the Sales Manager to develop and agree on a successful bid strategy for each bid/proposal. Convey this strategy to team members from all functional areas responsible for submitting costs and schedules in support of the bid.
  • Define and gather all the requisite inputs from functional departments to support the generation of the bid and review and scrutinize those inputs to assure they are well-founded and that they accurately reflect the scope of work to be performed.
  • Comply with established company processes and, while utilizing the appropriate Chorus 2.0 process level and related information systems, synthesize the bid/proposal for presentation to management for required approvals
  • Coordinate and present, with the help of the sales manager and aligned with Chorus 2.0 process, the Gate 1 (Bid/No Bid) and Gate 2 (Submit/Do Not Submit) presentations to management.
Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university (Master’s Degree (MBA) is preferred)
  • Eight to ten years of related sales or finance experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in Aerospace/Airline Operations is desirable.•Excellent communication and analytical skills required.
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers, managers, exec teams
