We are currently looking for a Linux Administrator to join Thales in Melbourne, FL. The Linux Administrator will be a Linux System Subject Matter Expert (SME) with some experience with DevOps support. The candidate should have experience working in hyper innovative environments supporting Linux/Unix physical and virtual server standup, configuration, and architecture with products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
  • Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
  • Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.
  • Generate periodic reports of system availability to management and external teams.
  • Experience with internet architectures including multi-homing with ISPs, traffic engineering through manipulation of BGP attributes and best practice in peering.
  • Comfortably work with multi-disciplinary teams in an environment with large Cisco and other data center infrastructure.
  • Monitor network to ensure network availability to all systems and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
  • Identify and work with other groups to coordinate application inter-dependencies and resolve issues.
  • Extensive experience in network engineering process.
  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management tools and processes.
  • Schedule updates and upgrades
Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of technical experience in related field.
  • Experience in Cisco Nexus Technologies (NX-OS,IOS-XE).
  • Demonstrated expertise with Cisco IOS is a must.
  • Experience with Configuration and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.
  • Troubleshooting: Ethereal, snoop, tcpdump, etherpeek, tcptrace etc.
  • Understanding of IPSEC and other VPN technologies such as L2TP, DMVPN,GRE is a must.
  • Must be conversant with Layer 3 control layer: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, route maps, route filters,LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, QOS, VLAN, ACL, SNMP, syslog, VPN, application data flow.
  • Must be conversant with Redundancy and resilience: HSRP, VRRP, STP.
  • Experience with dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP and BGP and best practices for availability and performance.
  • Good knowledge of the following;routing protocols including MP-BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, quality of service, security network management, remote access.
  • Understand Data Center design principals.
  • Hands on experience with Cisco’s Unified Computing Systems, B/C Series.
  • Experience with UCS Central,UCS Manager,Fabric Interconnects.
  • UCS Operational Validation & Troubleshooting.
