The accounting department ensures the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements through managing an array of accounting processes including the month-end financial statement close, payroll, accounts payable, tax and audit
compliance, designing and maintaining accounting policies, and implementing financial controls. The department strives to promote company values by continually evolving department efficiency and procedures through automation, by
taking action to minimize Mindbody environmental impact through minimal use of paper, and by serving employees, management, and vendors in a humble and helpful manner.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate Accountant - Operations role supports the accounting and finance functions by managing all financial tools to ensure maximum efficiency of department processes. This includes analyzing the existing design and business
models to identify areas for improvement and generating detailed reports to help guide business processes. This position requires a strong, technology driven, individual contributor and project leader and is responsible for meeting tight project deadlines while seamlessly coordinating numerous priorities simultaneously.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, mathematics, computer science or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and task management skills
  • Detail oriented and analytically minded
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, including experience creating and manipulating Excel VBA macros
  • Experience with MS-Access, Power BI or any other relational databases is desired
  • Working knowledge of billing, accounting, and general financial disciplines is a plus
  • Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite, Aria, Salesforce, Coupa, Concur, Avalara, and Blackline is a plus

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and maintain financial reports for internal and external financial reporting
  • Develop recurring and ad-hoc reporting out of Salesforce, Aria, Coupa, Concur, and NetSuite that allows team members to turn around data requests quickly and efficiently.
  • Super-User within the current financial business suite of systems including
    NetSuite, Aria, Coupa, Concur, Avalara, etc., providing administrative and training support for the team
  • Manage the automatic interface of data between the financial applications to ensure consistent data is housed within the systems. This would include NetSuite, Looker, Salesforce, Aria, and future applications.
  • Serve as liaison between finance and IT for providing guidance on internal MBO system developments that are utilized by Finance. Assist in the testing of these systems and integration within the Finance team.
  • Liaison between staff accountants and accounting management, serving to enforce and monitor compliance with company-wide accounting policies and procedures.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
  • This position is mostly stationary and will be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.

    SCOPE OF SUPERVISION/AUTHORITY:
    Duties are performed under limited supervision. Will receive training and guidance when working on new processes and procedures. Most decisions will be routine and do not require supervisor assistance. No direct management responsibility.
