Apartment Therapy Media is seeking an SVP of Sales to join our high-energy, successful team. This role is based in our airy, convivial Soho, NYC, office and reports to the CEO/Founder. The SVP of Sales at Apartment Therapy Media (ATM) is responsible for the growth and health of all revenue initiatives within the company, including team leadership, strategy generation for categories and products, revenue products innovation, integrated marketing ideas, display advertising, custom sponsorship, affiliate/partnerships and programmatic revenue for all ATM properties. In addition, the SVP Sales will reinforce and expand ATM's brand equity within the digital advertising marketplace by positioning it as a leading lifestyle brand. The SVP Sales position resides on the ATM Executive Council bringing marketplace requirements and industry happenings to the other Executive Team members.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead team to achieve aggressive growth goals through strategic sales planning, marketplace relationships and yield pricing optimization
  • Align revenue strategies to reader usage and data trends
  • Identify target clients and key agencies to build market share across agency/client portfolio
  • Lead teams to focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with important decision makers, clients and agencies throughout the selling process
  • Oversee each of the teams that comprise the key revenue pillars: direct advertising sales, custom sponsorships, integrated marketing functions, programmatic & affiliate channels, and ad operations functions for each ATM site
  • Hire strategic sellers and support functions to accelerate revenue growth across the company. Maintain and manage a hiring pipeline.
  • Establish both short-term results and long-term strategy; formulate seamless development of new revenue by products by partnering with editorial, product and marketing teams
  • Partner with CFO to prepare sales forecasts, budgets and sales reports as necessary and track and measure the progress over time
  • Working with CCO and CPO, develop large-scale cross-platform sponsorship/advertising/marketing/experiential opportunities to increase revenues per sale
  • Utilize data and reporting to develop strong repeat business channels
  • Oversee the evolution of our value propositions and overall audience narrative, including presentations, one sheets, sponsorship materials, research studies
  • Act as an ambassador for ATM in the digital industry including high level networking functions, panels and industry conferences

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 12 to 15 years in digital revenue generation and operations leadership
  • Demonstrated history of leading a company to record growth in all key areas of revenues
  • Senior leader who is proactive with energetic attitude and desire to manage in a results-oriented and deadline-driven environment. Desire and ability to manage multiple responsibilities and goals at the same time
  • Team player who works well with other executive leaders, direct reports support teams, colleagues, and other company departments
  • A person who embodies strategic/solution selling principles
  • Demonstrated ability to build, manage and motivate high performance sales team
  • Strong operational skills, forecasting, pipeline management, planning, hiring
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with other functional groups to drive organizational performance
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to evangelize
  • Vast experience in leading media sales teams to exceed goals
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of the digital lifestyle space
