The Edge + Security Services team is looking for a passionate, creative, and experienced engineer/developer who not only possess expected software development skills but also can quickly understand the broad perspective of Microsoft's enterprise product roadmap. It must possess a proven capacity to coordinate across numerous product teams in different divisions and experience with IT and Business decision makers. A professional passionate about coding, computer security, and modern engineering. The software engineer will be part of a high performing team which is responsible of maintaining, monitoring, and developing new exciting features. It is expected that the software engineering is capable of owning end to end feature development and implemmentation and make decisions independently. Driven, self-directed, entrepreneurial and focused on delivering the right results. Strong skills in written and oral communications in english, a positive and proactive attitude and the willingness to tackle hard problems in innovative ways.

 

This position will be Remote work.

Responsibilities
  • Software Development – Develop enhancements and new features for modern services in the areas of code signing and crypto services.
  • Automation – Identify and develop automation opportunities to reduce human error risks and faster incident mitigation.
  • Incident Management - Document and investigate escalated code sign and crypto services incidents for both manual/automated CodeSign services across multiple dependencies (CodeSign service components are owned by Edge + Security Services (ESS), resolves them by using innovative engineering practices, and documents those innovations as best practices or engineering standards as part of our CodeSign Wiki while monitoring the overall quality of incident management in support of CodeSign related hardware/services. Communicates data and information among stakeholders and applies advanced diagnostic expertise during live service issues.
  • Change/Release Management – responsible for ensuring changes/updates into CodeSign and Crypto Services systems, (including certs deployments, feature development, new signing technologies, signer updates, BVTs, UATs, etc.) are properly executed and validated with the most rigorous quality controls minimizing customer potential impacts. Accountable for documenting change management processes and creation/implementation of best change management practices in collaboration with our partners.
  • Problem Management – accountable for tracking and investigating problems related to signing technologies and CodeSign services in general (area of expertise) by using CodeSign developed troubleshooting standards and problem management tools/processes, and development of root cause analysis (RCA) plans, and recommendations for improvements (CS Wiki and best practices).
  • Design Integration – reviews specifications and offers insight at the code or architectural level on interoperability and supportability for specifics signing technologies and tools integrations.
  • Performance Optimization - Analyzes performance and Capacity data related to our global CodeSign services and is provides recommendations.
  • Continuity Planning – Support the implementation of plans for disaster recovery, business continuity, mitigation, contingency, and security as needed, and leads end-to-end testing efforts.
  • Security Fundamentals Compliance – Ensure that Microsoft services are in full compliance with security fundamental.
  • Environmental Compliance- All Microsoft employees have environmental responsibilities, to help achieve its broad environmental objective established in the Environmental Management System (EMS) and must understand their roles and responsibilities to ensure successful implementation of the Environmental Principles and the EMS
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or technical related discipline
  • 5-8 years of related experience in several of the following areas:
    • Software Development & Testing - Clear end to end understanding of all aspects of the software development process
    • Customer and Service Support
    • Systems and Applications Technical Design
    • Security Systems
    • Process Analysis and Documentation Management
    • Infrastructure Operations
  • Knowledge of Signing Technologies, Encryption and PKI areas
  • DevOps methodology knowledge and experience.
  • Microsoft Azure knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in software development/programming (.NET Framework, C#, Python and scripting).
  • Specialized expertise in areas of Windows client/server development environment.
  • 5-8 years of experience with system administration in Windows server environments, including installation and configuration of Windows servers, managing permissions, applying updates and creating and implementing system administration scripts.
  • Solid knowledge in software testing and IT system troubleshooting required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with HSM special hardware, including setup, creation & recreation of Security World’s and Cards
  • Certifications on Microsoft Server Operating Systems and Technologies and Security preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification a plus.
