The objective of the Industrial Engineer is to design and optimize the implementation and execution model of Optoro's software platform in whichever location they occur. Such modeling includes utilization of facilities, layout, takt times, material flow, and personnel to improve efficiency and reduce waste of all operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the design of the physical processing related to our solution in collaboration with Solutions and Operations as well as the Client
Responsible for building out and maintaining the standard process flows based on the size of available space and Client or 3PL needs
Identify, support, and Lead value stream map improvements and waste elimination projects for unit processing that drive an increase in recovery, exceed SLA’s and reduce touches across Optoro's network of facilities in collaboration with 3PL’s and/or Clients
Develop time studies to maintain UPH / CPU model including fixed and variable costs.
Partner with Optoro product management team on labor management and warehouse management functionality - including ideation, design, test, and UAT
Collaborate with Training and Support with the content of training programs to promote efficient on-boarding of Optoro’s Software users
Conduct ad-hoc engineering time studies and layout designs to support solution development
Support implementations as needed
Create and maintain internal reports in support of departmental objectives and KPI's
Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as processing costs, process flow charts, cycle time, headcount balancing among others, to determine efficient utilization of workers
Create, maintain and refine a lean playbook which includes: 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, mistake proofing and line balancing
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or related field
4+ years of related work experience (Operations Line Manager, Site Industrial Engineer, Project Engineer, Logistics Manager, Supply Chain Management, Distribution Center Operations)
Significant knowledge/understanding of Distribution Center & Supply Chain techniques focused on lean manufacturing principles.
Strong mathematical and project management skills
Ability to execute against multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high-quality work
Experience with software applications and programming. (Lucidchart & Autocad drawing)
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems effectively
Office and Warehouse conditions. Travel 50%
Ability to conduct time studies and standing for several hours
