Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineer/Principal Mechanical - Equipment Integration to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and is assigned to 1st shift (Monday through Thursday) on a 4 day - 10 hours/day schedule. The selected candidate will become part of the Subsystems Engineering team within the Vehicle Engineering IPT and responsibilities include: Experience in the design of hardware for installation of electrical equipment. Also experience in fluid line installations, and wire harness installations. Create and modify designs in 3D environment of details, assemblies, and installations of secondary structure supporting electrical and other equipment. Execute engineering design projects on schedule. Support assembly line installations. The candidate should also have an understanding of 3D modeling, modern file management systems, GD&T, and MRB. This position can be filled by either an Engineer Mechanical Level or a Principal Engineer Mechanical Level Basic Qualifications Engineer Mechanical: Bachelors of Science Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline from accredited institution with minimum 2 years of experience; Masters with minimum 0 years of experience; Experience in military aircraft equipment installations. Design of supporting structure and working with LUR interfaces using 3D solid modeling tools. This position requires a current in-scope DOD Secret Clearance as well as the ability to obtain a Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. Basic Qualifications Principal Engineer Mechanical: Bachelors of Science Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline from accredited institution with minimum 5 years of experience; Masters with minimum 3 years of experience; Experience in military aircraft equipment installations. Design of supporting structure and working with LUR interfaces using 3D solid modeling tools. This position requires a current in-scope DOD Secret Clearance as well as the ability to obtain a Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer preferred. Experience with NX 3D modeling tools or similar systems for design of equipment installations and supporting structure. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees, diverse technical teams and management. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
