I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

The Marketing Director will manage and implement marketing programs to support Consumer Revenue efforts.

This position will be responsible for exploring trends, product innovations, identifying new market opportunities, building marketing plans for new launches, aligning with company objectives and prioritizing customer experience.

Support efforts that carry a variety of goals including meeting subscription goals, membership acquisition, and more. Marketing avenues will include onsite promotion, support of paid efforts, affiliate efforts, and third party avenues as needed.

This position is highly cross-functional, working closely with the Product, Marketing, Editorial, Creative, Tech and Customer Experience teams.

  • Partner with the Product Manager to kickstart and lead ideation and concept phase for new product development
  • Development of business and marketing plans, including value proposition, for products/offers/services
  • Build data, trend and competition-driven business cases for new product concepts
  • Lead and own market research initiatives for key launches
  • Develop launch assets and broad marketing guidelines for new products in collaboration with Marketing and Creative teams
  • Drive existing product optimization, ensuring competitive positioning and best-in-class customer experience; collaborate with Marketing to drive sales growth of each existing product

  • Maintain constant pulse of competitive landscape identifying trends, innovations, new products and both current and emerging competitors
  • Work in collaboration with the GM and Finance to create new product launch forecast
  • Directly manage Product Marketing budgets

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

BS/BA in Marketing, Business or related discipline; or equivalent training or experience

Experience:

Minimum 4 years proven successful experience in product marketing and development.

  • Passionate about product development and willing to take risks to develop unique product concepts
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically with exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly collaborative and flexible team player, able to adapt to changes
  • Highly organized and calendar driven, able to handle many competing priorities
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for verbal and written communication with executives, peers, employees, vendors and customers
