1Password is looking for a Director, HR Operations to lead a team during an exciting time of growth. You will build on an overall HR operations and HR technology function including HRIS, HR compliance, process development and improvement, compensation, data analytics, reporting and execution. This role will lead the review of various audit processes throughout the employee cycle and oversee and ensure compliance programs are maintained and adhere to local laws, regulations and company guidelines.

You will mentor and coach a growing and talented HR Operations team including compensation, compliance, and HR professionals with a focus on employee engagement and development. The successful candidate will have a flexible and pragmatic approach with the creation and improvement of processes and reporting. You are a strong collaborator and builder and have a flawless ability to create solid partnerships with stakeholders ensuring overall system efficiency and HR program effectiveness.

We’d love it if you have prior experience working in fast paced environments, pre-IPO companies and/or industry experience in Technology.

This is a Remote opportunity within Canada and the United States.
What we're looking for:
  • 10+ years experience building and leading people operations including HRIS, HR compliance, process creation and improvement, compensation, data analytics, tools, and reporting
  • An excellent grasp on tools and systems to produce reliable data analytics and reporting that serve the business
  • A keen focus on data integrity, inputs and updates throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Ability to utilize analytical skills and data insights for program and process development
  • A strong desire to create a positive experience for both employees and business groups
  • Project management skills with experience implementing HR strategies through to completion
  • Ability to effectively lead, coach and mentor a growing Operations team
  • Excellent collaborator and ability to build effective relationships with cross-functional HR teams and stakeholders
  • Effective communicator with the team, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead change
  • Strong knowledge of compensation programs, legal and HR compliance 
What you can expect:
  • Understand 1Password’s key metrics and goals for company success
  • Develop and implement strategic goals related to but not limited to systems, compliance, compensation, tools, operations, processes and reporting
  • Oversee and ensure compliance programs, such as Affirmative Action Plan, EEO1 Reporting, and I-9 compliance, are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and company guidelines
  • Lead the review and audit processes throughout the employee lifecycle, including compliance, equity administration, performance management, onboarding, offboarding, leave management, compensation, and benefits administration
  • Provides coaching, support and continuous feedback for the team to drive employee engagement and development
  • Provide scalable solutions for HR Operations empowering HR teams to effectively support the business
  • Partner and consult with colleagues and stakeholders with the ability to gain alignment on program development and effectiveness
  • Be an effective change agent in support of the implementation of programs and processes
  • Be an active member of the senior HR leadership team and develop strong collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders
