Within this product owner role you will be responsible for creating and delivering against the STIVI (Strategic Technology Information & Vendor Insights) product roadmap. STIVI is a centralized hub of vendor information that will provide a central view of key third-party financial, risk, performance, and contractual information for strategic partners within American Express Technology. As part of this role, you will:

  • Practice Agile methodologies as well as teach others proper Agile protocol.
  • Need to multi-task and keep several projects in motion at once.
  • Create detailed product/ tech documentation and easily recall the status of each project
  • Manage competing prioritizes and maintain the sprint backlog consistent with the Product Roadmap as aligned with the Product Director and Product Team.
  • Explain technical components and functionalities to non-technical audience and translate these clearly within written features and user stories.
  • Influence and communicate effectively with various stakeholders to continuously deploy and build robust, impactful technologies.
  • Conduct user research and focus groups and utilize quantitative user metrics to validate the product and tech hypotheses.
  • Need to think strategically and understand how solution approach fits into technical environment
  • Partner closely with Agile Champions and Scrum teams to drive delivery reviewing and raising risks and issues
  • Create communications and announcements in line with the organization’s marketing and channel strategies.
  • Work collaboratively across Technology, Finance, Sourcing and other cross functional stakeholder groups to ensure full understanding of capabilities and anticipate their  needs.
  • Provide user support via Slack, email, and webex training sessions as needed.

Depending on role and business needs, colleagues will either work onsite, in a hybrid model (combination of in-office and virtual days) or fully virtually.

In order to work in or visit any of our offices in the United States, we require colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.          

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management with proven track record in defining winning product constructs and delivering against a product vision and strategy.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
  • SAFe Certified
  • Familiarity with reporting/analytical applications.
  • Highly organized self-starter and independent thinker who is comfortable making appropriate project level decisions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to clearly articulate complexities

Also Preferred

  • Experience in working with Big Data, APIs, and BI software
  • Experience using Rally & Confluence
