Yelp is looking for a remote Senior Product Manager to build state of the art ads features for our ad syndication products, which allow advertisers to get in front of Yelp consumer intent on publisher websites across the internet. 

In this high-impact role, you will focus on building new ads systems ground up that expand Yelp Ads into a broad set of ad inventory sources outside of the Yelp platform, as well as drive optimizations to increase advertiser outcomes from the Yelp Audience Network. This will include owning the end to end lifecycle of the product; you will work with engineering & external partners to identify top inventory sources and key optimization levers, with engineering to build new systems, with design to experiment with the right ad creatives and landing pages, and with go-to-market teams to ship product and drive impact.

Where You Come In:

  • Fully own the product area from exploration to build to go-to-market
  • Evaluate different sources of ad inventory, understand capabilities they unlock / limitations, compare economics and make tradeoffs to identify the best investments
  • Evaluate different parts of the ads system to identify areas for optimization that increase advertiser outcomes
  • Build new systems that seamlessly integrate the current Yelp ads systems into new inventory sources, working closely with your Engineering team and external partners
  • Design experiments to test new sources, define success metrics and evaluate success working closely with BizOps / Data Science / Engineering
  • Collaborate with go-to-market teams to figure the best way to get the product to advertisers to drive revenue outcomes
  • Own communication with internal stakeholders and leaders around the product area

What It Takes to Succeed:

  • Technical chops: You understand the adtech world (DSPs, SSPs, cookies, attribution), are comfortable discussing complex technical systems with engineers, and getting hands dirty with data. Preferred background in Computer Science, Engineering or other hard science (like Math, Physics, etc.)
  • Product chops: You have 2+ years of product management experience. Adtech experience is a big plus.
  • Problem solver: You can think through highly unstructured problems in a systematic way, you focus on asking why before the what, and you are a principled investor.
  • You are comfortable doing your own analysis with SQL, Tableau and can ramp up running analyses with ipython.
  • You’re energized by driving revenue growth, and translating customers wants and needs into concrete features
  • Dealing with ambiguity: you enjoy working on an early stage product with a constant stream of ambiguous problems coming your way and can prioritize as a sound investor
  • You can communicate with many stakeholders across different parts of the organization. You’ll need to go from a meeting discussing what to build to grow a large local business’ ad spend, to a meeting with engineers building ad targeting systems.
