We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing Department of Information Technology (IT) as Senior Director of IT Clinical Applications.  As a Senior Director of IT Clinical Applications, the candidate will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and direction over our IT clinical platforms and systems (e.g. Practice Management, Electronic Medical Record, Lab Information System, Radiology Information System, 3rd Party Application, Interface Management & Data Archiving Portfolio). For the candidate to be successful in this role, they must possess the ability to develop strong business relationships with IT, clinical, and operational leadership.  The candidate would be responsible for developing enterprise level strategies that ensure the development and proliferation of IT clinical applications to support the growth of the organization.  They must also work closely with organizational leadership, process owners, departmental leadership, and clinical staff to promote the effective use of clinical systems in all areas and to maximize the value received from the investment in technology. We are seeking an individual who is, organized, highly self-motivated and driven towards excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction, oversight, and management in support of the institutional infrastructure for supporting clinical application and technologies
  • Provide day to day operational support for IT clinical applications ensuring system uptime, performance, and usability
  • Provides overall direction in the planning, design, and support of the clinical application portfolio strategy
  • Oversees all formalized project plans and develops strategic plans and manages resources for clinical application related efforts
  • Develops and manages operating and capital budgets that support IT clinical applications and systems
  • Participates in strategic planning meetings and working sessions with other IT leadership to develop and implement department governance, process, and procedures
  • Develops and provides strategic direction and innovation toward future clinical application solutions that will support the growth of organization
  • Collaborates with IT and clinical operational leads to develop creative solutions for high-level operational issues
  • Manage, train, and lead a team of associates that are accountable, adaptable, and prepared to support the growing needs of the organization
  • Develop and own the creation of employee goals that will ensure the growth and engagement of resources managed
  • Engage in vendor management for all IT clinical applications and third-party application
  • Partner with IT infrastructure teams to ensure systems are designed and implemented in a highly resilient and scalable manner
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams, clinical operational teams, and IT leadership to ensure all systems implemented are meeting the current and future state needs of the organization
  • Ensure that all PII, PHI, and business sensitive data is secured as it relates to IT clinical applications supported
  • Identify areas of improvements for existing systems and new opportunities that will drive value to the business and support the organizational goals in a broader sense

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience managing and leading high performing, motivated, and agile resources
  • Minimum 8 years of experience creating and maintaining training curriculums and performing complex implementations for clinical applications and integrated workflows associated
  • Minimum 5 years of experience of full-time IT administrative experience using clinical information systems, including analysis, support, and implementation
  • Proficient with the full Microsoft Office 365 Suite of applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.). applications, technologies, and systems (e.g., Practice Management, Electronic Medical Record, Laboratory, Radiology, etc.)
  • Prior experience and working knowledge of data analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Domo, Cogito)
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and requirements related to clinical information systems
  • Expert knowledge of relevant operational and clinical workflows

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, or related technical fields. Master’s degree in related fields 
  • Epic Ambulatory credentialing or certification
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills when interacting with all levels of the organization
  • Effectively and efficiently work with multiple stakeholders across various IT and operational teams
