Job Description

As a member of Conde Nast’s Global Fashion Network, the GQ Fashion Director is responsible for creating, curating and driving the fashion point of view across the GQ brand and its platforms including print, digital, video and social. They also lend their fashion expertise to e-commerce projects, events and other brand initiatives. This individual manages a team of editors and stylists responsible for creating GQ fashion coverage and executing high-level content consistent with the brand’s point of view. They work closely with the GQ Editorial Lead on creating exceptional fashion imagery that aligns with the brand’s objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the GFN, GQ Editorial Lead and senior editorial team to create memorable fashion editorial across all platforms

  • Represent the GQ brand within the worlds of fashion, entertainment and culture, working closely with the GQ Editorial Lead and senior editors on all relevant brand initiatives.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across divisions to contribute fashion coverage ideas that build the brand’s reputation and create new opportunities.

  • Manage a team of global fashion editors within the GFN, ensuring a smooth-running, efficient, and capable team responsible for covering the market and generating innovative fashion content.

  • Cultivate top-level, productive relationships within the fashion community including fashion brands, stylists, personalities, photographers.

  • Contribute to shoots as a top tier stylist working closely with teams across editorial and creative to ensure the vision of the shoot comes to life.

  • Proactively scout for new talent in the worlds of fashion, design, entertainment, sports, etc.

  • Collaborate within the GFN on editorial and special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 7-10 years prior relevant fashion experience, with several years of editorial fashion experience strongly preferred

  • Strong relationships in the worlds of fashion and culture

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Prior people management experience with an ability to manage across cultures and timezones

  • Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and organized

  • Recognized as a top tier stylist
