Associate Director for Optum California

Maria has a long history of philanthropy and volunteerism- she is a Family Nurse Practitioner and business owner. She currently serves in the role of Associate Director for Optum California formerly NAMM, she has oversight of the clinical quality performance department who serves over 800 primary care physicians and 3500 specialists across Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego County she also serves as the President; CEO for King Automotive Services, Inc. a family owned & operated small business in the Inland Empire.

She currently serves as a director for the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce foundation, is the Immediate past President & sitting director of UCSF’s California Healthcare Leader ship Alumni Board, Co-Chair of UNIDOS California for Optum, is a founding member of the Coachella Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and past Inland Empire Region Chair for the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. Her past roles have included Chair of the Greater Riverside Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Advisor for the Riverside Community College Theatrical Arts and performance and Pod Advisor to medical fellows attending the University of San Francisco, Center for Health Professions fellowship (CHCF).

She holds her first Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Chapman University, her second Master’s Degree from Western University and Health Sciences, completed a fellowship at UCSF Center for Health Professions and has several Executive Business Management pro gram certificates from notable universities such as Cornell, Stanford school of business, USC

Marshall School of business and the SBA Emerging Leaders.

She is a proud wife, mother, daughter and sister; her family is the compass that guides her steps in the community with a goal of creating a thriving space for future leaders within our youth.
