The Associate Director, Product Management will play a critical role on our team leading the delivery of digital capabilities that set a new standard for how employers and employees engage with Sun Life for their essential insurance needs. In this senior role you will employ various techniques with the help of your team members to deeply understand the problems facing our clients. You will work cross-functionally with a talented team of product managers, UX designers, engineers, and product marketers to bring amazing products to market. After product launch, you will measure success based on previously established goals and objectives and make product adjustments until the desired results are achieved.

Oversee and effectively coach, mentor, grow, and empower multiple entry and mid-level product managers
Develop and own the program backlog and roadmap for your assigned products and domain area(s) in alignment with the company’s objectives
Get to the root of problems facing our clients before jumping to right to solutions
Represent the voice of the customer by synthesizing information from multiple channels such as direct client feedback, stakeholder feedback, market research, competitor analysis, and user testing
Work hand in hand with the UX design team to create amazing user experiences that allow users to accomplish their tasks as efficiently as possible
Ensure your product solutions work harmoniously with surrounding business processes
Collaborate with product marketing to plan release dates and effectively communicate the value proposition of new product features internally and externally
Establish KPIs and product metrics in conjunction with business owners for managed initiatives and co-develop the analytics implementation plan
Monitor product performance via product analytics, user feedback, and business results and make recommendations for how to improve, adjusting the product roadmap accordingly
Be a team player with a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed

Proven experience with 7-10 years as a product manager, product owner or a similar role in software development
Bachelor's or master’s degree in business management or technical field is preferred
Several years of people management experience with a demonstrated ability to coach and develop talent
An experienced agile development practitioner whereby using tools such as Jira and Confluence to create user stories and author product documentation is second nature
Collaborative and influential in your approach, appropriately engaging team members to accomplish your objectives
Flexible to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment in a professional and timely manner
Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
