The C+E Cloud App Development & Data (CADD) Team is seeking a seasoned business leader to grow our business by creating innovative partnerships and building strong ecosystem round our products and services. This includes Microsoft platforms like Azure, Windows, Office and SQL Server, as well as non-Microsoft platforms like Linux, iOS and Android. With the shift to cloud-focused development and the increased investment in developer solutions by our cloud competitors, our market is changing quickly. We are in the midst of a significant transformation in product and business strategy to address these new dynamics and continue to play a leading role. Building modern applications demands a range of technologies, products and services. Core to our strategy is a renewed focus on the ecosystem that surrounds and supports the Visual Studio lineup. This ecosystem comprises open source communities and commercial organizations, ranging from services/consulting partners to ISV and cloud-based service providers. This role is focused on growing our ecosystem and turning it into critical asset that will help our business transform. Key responsibilities include: • Create and execute an ecosystem strategy for the developer business: develop a deep understanding of our product and business strategy, review/conduct competitive and market research, engage closely with our engineering and exec leadership. Use this perspective to determine the best way invest in our partnerships and inorganic investments (M+A, commercial deals) in alignment with our business goals. • Build and maintain healthy partnerships: create and implement an engagement plan spanning programmatic and non-programmatic investments to build our ecosystem. Partner with organizations across the company from business development to the worldwide partner group to execute this plan. • Transform the way we go to market with partners: develop innovative approaches for us to reach new developers through key partner investments, and to help us make partners successful when they bet on our developer tools and platforms. • Develop new business models: drive the business strategy and execution of the new Visual Studio Marketplace to create new opportunities for partners to grow their businesses with us. Work with our engineering counterparts to implement this strategy. • Track ecosystem health and competitive dynamics: build and maintain a regular pulse on the health of our ecosystem, the trends that will impact it looking forward, the moves of our competitors in this space, and execute responses and needed. • Team Leadership: Lead a team of full time employees and vendors to achieve the key responsibilities listed here.




Required Qualifications: • Candidates should have at least 7+ years of experience in technology product management/marketing, business development, M&A, management consulting, banking or similar positions. Preferred Qualifications: • Ideal candidates will also be effective in interactive with Microsoft and partner executives, and possess strong analytical skills. • Strong cross-group collaboration skills are required as you will work across multiple teams both within the division and across Microsoft. • Solid oral and written communication skills and an ability to explain complex issues in an understandable way are required. • BA/BS required. MS or MBA are preferred. • Experience with the developer audience and the enterprise technology market is preferred. The responsibilities of the role may be scaled up for more senior candidates. NOTE: We would like to hire for this role in Redmond, WA but there is a possibility that it could be located in the San Francisco Bay Area instead, depending on the candidate.
