Principal Program Manager

Team Xbox is looking for a Principal Program Manager to deliver core developer-facing functionality in our gaming runtime and services.  In this role, you will design and execute client APIs, in-game UX, and web services to support in-game commerce, lead key strategic initiatives, ideate on creative new opportunities, work with partners to identify engineering deliverables, and drive our partner teams to contribute to these efforts. You will be responsible for leveraging customer and business data as a key input, and driving alignment with leadership and stakeholders on that prioritization. You will work across disciplines – business, marketing, studios, engineering, third-party publishing, and more.  You will work both within Xbox and across organizations, collaborating with UX design teams, partner experience teams, and service engineering teams from Xbox, Mixer, Microsoft’s Universal Store, and more. You will be required to provide strong leadership, set clear requirements, communicate effectively, and drive for success for our partners and a great developer experience.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely across multiple disciplines (design, business development, data science, user research, engineering, and marketing) to execute on our vision for future developer-facing commerce solutions
  • Own the product roadmap/prioritization of features for our developer commerce experiences
  • Work with engineering, design and our partner teams to create a plan, lock dependencies, drive execution, and keep everyone informed
  • Represent your feature areas internally and at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements
  • Drive for a continued focus and commitment on an exceptional monetization experience on Microsoft platforms

Qualifications

 

  • 7+ years in a technical program management, software development, or software engineering experience
  • Experience designing & executing both service & client APIs
  • Excellent, demonstrated written & oral communication skills
  • Experience and examples of successful cross-group communication
  • Experience driving external partners to deliver key technical contributions on defined timelines
  • Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence   
  • Organized, with strong technical and project management skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • BS or equivalent in CS/Engineering

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with the PC and mobile gaming ecosystems
  • Experience with console ecosystems
  • A deep passion for developers & the games and entertainment business
