uShip is currently seeking Senior UX Designers to join the team! UX Designers work closely with dedicated product teams to provide needed support and guidance on interaction design. They also contribute to initiatives driven by the Experience team.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Initiate design research, including generative user research (observational studies, customer interviews) and usability/validation testing
  • Produce information architectures, wireframes, prototypes and design specifications
  • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes creative leadership, designers, scrum, product managers, software developers, and QA
  • Collaborate with team members on product ideation and conceptual development using an iterative, user-centered design process
  • Communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale, both verbally and visually
  • Apply patterns from the uShip design language system in day-to-day design work. Maintain and extend the system as needed throughout this process.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate design tasks and execution of design deliverables


SKILLS REQUIRED

  • At least five years of professional digital design experience that encompasses product design, e-commerce applications, and responsive web design
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Information Design, Graphic Design, or a related design or behavioral science discipline
  • Proficient with current design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Invision, Framer, etc
  • Strong and flexible skills in interaction (UX) design
  • In-depth knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to Web- and mobile- based e-commerce applications
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Must be able to work both on a team and independently.
  • Up-to-date with current user interaction trends across platforms (web, mobile, etc.)
  • Familiarity with capabilities and limitations of current Web and Mobile technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, React
  • Strong project and collaboration skills.
  • Articulate how a singular design solution fits into an overall narrative or meets an unmet user or business need
  • Great attention to detail throughout the design process and into the QA process as designs make it through the development cycle
  • Experience designing motion graphics with tools such as After Effects a plus
