The Manager, Compensation will assist in the development, implementation, communication and administration of the company’s compensation programs in order to attract, retain, and motivate talent. Responsible for the development, implementation and administration of various compensation programs and processes, including but not limited to base pay administration, market pricing, job family architecture, annual incentive plans, and the annual year-end compensation cycle.

Hybrid Work Schedule: consists of reporting to our Manhattan office (3) days per week located at 100 Church Street, NYC.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Conducts job evaluations and salary surveys & annual pay equity study, establishing salary structures, developing salary budgets, and preparing policies and procedures to ensure the achievement of equitable and competitive employee compensation plans/programs.

  • Designs and maintains the company’s framework for the job family architecture structure.

  • Assess competitive market trends; proactively determine gaps to market and presents recommendations to senior management. In addition will assist and guide HR/business leaders regarding salary increase and bonus award recommendations.  As well as new hire offers, promotion and/or market adjustments.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of US federal and state legislation and labor laws that may affect compensation policies.

  • Facilitates with the management and administration of the annual bonus administration process and other compensation policies and programs.

  • Will assist in preparing certain materials for the year-end compensation process, including, final year-end recommendations and any ongoing program changes for merit, incentive, and bonus and equity programs for salary planning.

  • Manages the process for the annual market data collection and analysis processes and develops a system to report salary ranges.

  • Overseeing all aspects of compensation planning to include system readiness, communication, and budget proposals.

  • Conducts ongoing research for improving effectiveness of compensation plans as it relates to market competitiveness to attract and retain employees.

  • Will serve as a main point of contact with external survey and other related vendors.

  • Conducts annual Pay Equity study.

  • Provides consultation and guidance to HR Business Partners & business leaders on market data & trends

  • Assists in other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree

  • Prior experience working in either a compensation or benefits department; managing a function

  • Prior experience with salary administration including determining pay grades and analyzing survey data

  • Exposure to the development and implementation of benefits programs

  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations with respect to FLSA

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Intermediate Word, Excel, and Outlook skills

  • Prior Workday experience

  • Experience with MarketPay

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) WorldatWork

Hiring Range*:

  • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $98,400 - $142,205

  • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $84,400 - $125,545

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
