Our team develops Azure Sphere, the newly announced Microsoft solution for highly-secured, Internet-connected microcontroller (MCU) devices.  We work in small, collaborative groups in Microsoft's AI & Research Division to build end-to-end solutions spanning from backend cloud services to SDKs to operating system.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously support the team toward our high aspirations for quality, through tool and process development, coaching, and leadership.
  • Build or extend reliable and best-in-class tools for our team’s own use.
  • Shape the direction of our project's engineering system, test architecture, and release pipeline.
  • Invest in static analysis and other similar approaches for identifying issues earlier in the development flow.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • 5 or more years of software design and development experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering, OR an additional 4 years' work experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience designing, developing, and implementing automated tests for production software.
  • Experience developing production code in C++, C#,  or Java.

 

PREFERRED

  • Experience developing engineering tools.
  • Experience using TDD (Test-Driven Development) methodologies in at least 1 prior software project.
  • Experience developing production code in C# or Java.
