At Dishcraft Robotics, our mission is to create happy workplaces. We are a venture-backed Bay Area start-up that is automating commercial kitchens by using robotics, process innovation, and machine learning to sort, scrub, inspect, and rack dishes. We are looking for highly motivated, curious and passionate business people and technologists to bring our robots to life.

We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Product Management to join our team to help continue building our robots, work cross-functionally with our engineering teams, and innovate features as we continue to scale. As a Director of Product Management at Dishcraft Robotics, you will be responsible for working to drive hardware product initiatives from inception through launch and iterations. In this role, you will collaborate closely with customers, designers, engineers, analysts, and other cross-functional team members within the organization to ensure that our robots amaze and delight our customers.

The person in this role must be a process and detail-oriented individual capable of driving physical products through the development lifecycle in coordination with the hardware engineering group, product management, marketing, and software engineering groups, all while maintaining a strong focus on the product's core customer benefit.

About This Job:

  • Experience/knowledge in product management taking products from concept through to market
  • Strong technical aptitude to understand and define technical problems for a technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with product requirements capture process for software and/or hardware products and a structured approach to writing product requirements
  • Strong demonstrated analytical and quantitative experience including market research/ analysis and competitive intelligence
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, cost, and timeline
  • Drive alignment across multiple cross-functional teams (other product managers, designers, engineers) to ship new products and features
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals

About You:

  • BA/BS degree in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • MBA preferred
  • 5 years of experience in product management on services products.
  • 3 years of experience in hardware or robotics.
  • Startup/early-stage company experience, including exposure to business planning and operations.
  • .Experience leading complex strategic and operational initiatives, working through technical, operational, legal/policy, and business issues and strong interpersonal skills; personable yet persistent.
  • Thrive on ambiguity, setting own goals and effectively delivering them in a very fast-changing environment.
  • Ability to gather and analyze large quantities of information, and turn them into a compelling product vision, including economics/business plan.
  • Ability to influence without authority, working with technical and cross-functional teams while having excellent communication/presentation skills (writing strategy docs, business plans and PRDs, writing and delivering presentations).
