AI & Research is a division at Microsoft solving problems to accelerate our innovation in AI, and to enable Microsoft to create truly intelligent systems and products for our customers.
When we launched Bing on June 1st of 2009, we changed search forever and created a foundational technology for AI. Bing’s market share has grown incredibly since the launch, and we serve over a third of U.S. queries, and power the partners Yahoo, Apple, Amazon and AOL for search. Our investments in ML and AI technologies in Bing have been heavily leveraged throughout the company from Azure taking advantage of AutoPilot, Cosmos and the Edge, to our new investments in Conversation-as-a-Platform.
Travel is one of the key segments of consumer search and a multi-billion dollar opportunity for Bing. Our ambition is to achieve that helping search users in discovering, exploring, planning and booking travel starting with leisure and later in business travel. We are working on creating delightful experiences in the categories of travel destination research, attractions, travel planning such as hotel, flights, tours and activities, grounded in deep analytics derived from the destination and user behavior.
The Bing flights team has a strong team working on this problem. We’re looking for an experienced and deeply technical engineer with significant experience building large scale server applications with real time processing. He/she should be intimately familiar with SOA, high performance systems and be able to learn and be effective quickly on new technology stacks. It’s important for this individual to be highly metrics driven and demonstrate out of box thinking to iterate on solutions and solve hard problems with tangible outcomes.
