We are looking for a skilled and motivated Tooling/Process Engineer to join our research team whose mission is to lead the design, development, and production of new molding tools and parts for low/moderate volume prototypes. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience in material selection, process optimization, and tool design for overmolding of electronics. This candidate will be able to work with a team of researchers and engineers who are pushing state-of-the-art wearable devices in part design and material development.

Tooling/Process Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Provide design for molding feedback and materials recommendations to mechanical engineers to improve the manufacturing feasibility of thermoplastic, thermoset, and metal parts
  • Cultivate and manage tooling and molding suppliers in the design, manufacturing and qualification of tooling and molded parts
  • travel as needed to ensure successful tool launch
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team in the selection of materials to meet performance, schedule, dimensional and cosmetic requirements
  • Lead the design, development, and production of new silicone/plastic injection mold tooling (including optimization trials and DOEs) to meet strict part and assembled device requirements
  • Liaison with other tooling/process engineers to share expertise and take advantage of industry advancements
