Our securitization transaction professionals are engaged to perform agreed-upon procedures (AUP) on new issuance securitization transactions related to commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), agency mortgaged-backed securities (MBS), asset-backed securities (ABS), and residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS). We have experience with a diverse list of asset classes including: commercial real estate, multifamily, single-family residential, auto, equipment, REO-to-rental, marketplace lending, timeshare, student loans, credit cards and various esoteric assets. Overall, the securitization transactions team offers a unique opportunity to gain invaluable technical skills in a dynamic and continuously evolving industry.

We are looking for managers to join our securitization transactions team to support our CMBS practice in our Jersey City, New Jersey office. Our CMBS team's main focus is to perform agreed upon procedures to assist clients successfully execute CMBS transactions. A candidate for this manager role would be responsible for directly interfacing with clients, attorneys and other professionals within the organization and the CMBS industry. For each CMBS transaction engagement, you will play a substantive/lead role in execution, planning, economics, and billing. In addition, demonstrate a general knowledge of market trends, competitor activities and Deloitte’s products and services to identify opportunities to cross-sell other services. Our clients include investment banks, primary broker dealers and mortgage loan originators/sellers in the CMBS industry. Our primary responsibilities include asset file review, collateral stratification and analysis, cash flow modeling, bond analytics and offering document review.

Essential responsibilities of a CMBS Manager include:
• Manage all aspects of CMBS transaction engagements to ensure the delivery of high quality work product while managing risk.
• Manage a team of consultants and senior consultants related to performing agreed upon procedures on each securitization transaction engagement using various software applications (proprietary loan file review system, Collateral Analysis System (“CAS”) and Excel based models).
• Manage expectations of deliverables and timing with underwriters, issuers, attorneys and engagement team.
• Thoroughly review offering documents and provide comments on the analytics, collateral disclosure and various conceptual descriptions.
• Prepare and issue AUP reports and invoices.
• Provide and monitor constructive on-the-job feedback and conduct performance reviews, train consultants on common loan file review, collateral analytic and troubleshooting techniques.
• Develop, build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Contribute to a positive team environment by taking an active role in counseling and mentoring consultants and senior consultants.
Managers are required to have:
• Four year college/university degree, with BS/BA in accounting, finance, economics or related discipline. MS/MBA helpful, but not required.
• CPA, CFA, CAIA or FRM Certification
• 3+ years of experience in coordinating and communicating with investment bankers, attorneys, mortgage loan originators/sellers.
• 2+ years supervising and training staff
• Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access)
• Well versed in interpretation of legal documents such as commercial real estate mortgage loans, third party reports, underwritten financials and offering documents.
• Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced environment
• Excellent prioritization skills and a commitment to meeting client deadlines
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills
• Flexibility to work in excess of standard hours when necessary to meet client deadlines
• Prior Big 4 Accounting Firm or other relevant work experience in the following areas is desired (minimum of 4 to 5 yrs experience):
• Mortgage and asset-backed securities
• Real estate finance professional
• Corporate trust
• Mortgage banking
• Loan servicing
• Investment banking
• Rating Agency
