As a CO+I Circuit Termination Techician, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

In this role, you will have an opportunity to shape our team’s best practices, working with our partners: Azure Networking, Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure, and Datacenter Field Operations teams.

As a Circuit Termination Technician (CTT), you will contribute to building a world-class network infrastructure by working with networking hardware, Optical DWDM, and IP Networks spanning subsea, global, and metro fiber.


As a successful Circuit Termination Technician your performance objectives include:

  • On-time (within SLA) and Defect free (adhering to Microsoft standards) delivery of circuits
  • Provides remote and smart hands support on performing cable installations, testing, and troubleshooting using standard processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve Layer 1 Optical and circuit delivery faults
  • Coordinates Work windows and migrations
  • Effectively multitask
  • Self-motivated to work with little supervision.
  • Provides informal training to peers

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CompTIA, Microsoft, or equivalent Network Certifications

Preferred Experiences:

  • 2 years of physical or remote experience required in datacenter operations and/or network/optical engineering.
  • Experience in mission-critical 24x7 environments.
  • Basic working knowledge of physical IT equipment (e.g. Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.)
  • Basic working knowledge of physical IT infrastructures (e.g. Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, IDF/MDF design, structured cabling etc.)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, strong sense of teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel Requirement: Ability to travel domestic (10%) and worldwide (<10%) as required in both planned and unplanned scenarios

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
