You Are:

A Big Data engineering maestro who knows how to build modern data architectures to provide mountains of data to data analysts and scientists. Your not-s0-secret talent? Developing, maintaining, testing, and evaluating Big Data solutions to help organizations make smarter decisions. You’re familiar with the systems side of Hadoop-based technologies such as MapReduce, Hive, MongoDB, and Cassandra, and you’re a wizard in data warehousing solutions. You thrive in a team setting where you can use your formidable creative and analytical powers to annihilate problems. Communication and people skills? You have both in spades, along with strong leadership and management chops. You’re a natural at bringing out the best in teams, and working in an information systems environment makes you more than happy.

 
 
 
The Work:
  • Work with clients to grasp their business philosophy and IT strategy; act as a beacon of our vision that the purpose of data pipelines is to help clients make better decisions by giving them the right data at the right time.    
  • Design, build, and implement advanced data pipelines that bring together data from a range of sources. Make sure the data is accessible to data scientists, analysts, and other users via a variety of programming languages.
  • Carry out complex Big Data projects that collect, parse, manage, analyze, and visualize large data sets, providing insights that clients can act on across their customer-facing platforms.
  • Understand the challenges being addressed by an engagement and collaborate with team members and clients to deliver a technical solution that meets the unique needs of our clients.
  • Describe technical solutions to appropriate audiences by creating high quality content.
  • Mentor and lead more junior team members.
  • Be ready to rack up those air miles with weekly travel to client sites.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years’ hands-on technical experience implementing Big Data solutions using Hadoop ecosystem
  • A Bachelor’s degree, or an Associate’s degree and 6 additional years of experience, or 12 additional years of experience
  • Must be willing to travel 100%
 
 
Preferred:
  • You’ve got experience of full life-cycle development
  • You have delivered Big Data solutions in the cloud with AWS or Azure or Google Cloud
  • You can configure and support API and Open Source integrations
  • You have experience administering Hadoop or other Data Science and Analytics platforms using the technologies above  
  • You’re no newbie when it comes to working in a DevOps environment
  • You’re familiar with designing ingestion, low-latency, visualization clusters to sustain data loads
  • Experience in developing solutions using any of the following:
    • Kafka-based streaming services
    • R Studio
    • Relational and Non-relations Databases (No-SQL)
    • Amazon S3
    • Scala, Spark
    • Jenkins, Chef, Puppet
