Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.
Role: Account Executive
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Team/Territory: Public Sector/Education
We are seeking a Senior Account Executive to drive sales revenue and build lasting relationships within the Higher Education and University sectors across New Zealand. In this role, you will represent the Salesforce team, focusing on government clients within the education sector. You will lead all aspects of the sales process with a strong emphasis on customer focus. Key responsibilities include Account Planning, Lead Qualification, Negotiation, and Closing, while developing long-term partnerships with key industry stakeholders. This is a quota-carrying role, critical to the broader sales team’s success.
Some of the things you’ll be doing include:
Create and implement effective territory and account plans for the higher education sector in New Zealand.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of the education sector including regulatory changes, government initiatives, and procurement cycles.
Position our unique Education Cloud product capabilities that address the specific needs of educational institutions.
Meet and exceed sales goals (quotas) through prospecting, qualifying, managing, and closing sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
Lead and leverage a matrix account team consisting of Business Development Representatives, Cloud Sales Executives, Solution Engineers, Services Practice Managers, Marketing, Inside Sales Support, and Customer Success Professionals. Together, you will develop and execute a territory plan to manage the sales pipeline and enhance customer relationships and value. (For large accounts within your territory, you will co-develop and execute detailed account plans.)
Build and manage strategic partner alliances and relationships as part of the fully integrated account and territory plan.
As a CRM company, maintaining our CRM is crucial. It’s not just about ticking boxes—it’s about articulating a well-planned sales strategy within the system and delivering on that. You'll ensure the CRM accurately reflects account status and opportunities, driving informed decisions and helping us meet our targets
Nurture and expand relationships with k-12 and Higher Education accounts by building trust and deeply understanding their unique challenges, including budget constraints, regulatory requirements, and evolving government policies. Stay ahead of competitive issues and demonstrate how our solutions effectively address these challenges to drive customer success.
Practice effective and excellent communication with leadership, customers, extended teams, and partners, ensuring alignment with public sector needs and priorities.
Participate in team-building and company-growth activities such as strategic planning, sales training, customer marketing efforts, and volunteering.
Travel to customer locations in support of sales efforts, particularly across New Zealand.
