As a part of Cloud & AI, the Product Release and Security Services (PRSS) team is responsible for the services that provide signing, scanning for malware and certificate management for all Microsoft products and services. The impact that our engineers have is realized in virtually every product release at Microsoft. The PRSS infrastructure team (network, security, storage, and compute) is continually designing, automating, implementing and improving the security and availability of our next generation of software services. We currently manage multiple purpose-built state of the art facilities and 1000’s of devices (Enterprise Scale).
Automate defined processes to eliminate human error and increase availability and standards. Perform problem analysis to influence incident reduction and elimination of single points of failure in production infrastructure. Monitor services and KPIs, reports trends and service anomalies. Solid understanding of Incident, problem management, RCA processes.
Deploy and maintain state of the art network equipment and tools. Manage the infrastructure implemented in secure environments to meet customer needs. Perform as escalation point for situations affecting critical applications for Microsoft's release processes in Puerto Rico, Redmond and Ireland. Make sure services are delivered at agreed levels.
Execute monthly maintenance for infrastructure implemented in secure environments, including but not limited to operating system updates, third party application updates, reliability updates, out of cycle hotfixes and firmware updates.
Partner with network, security, storage and compute peers to design highly secure and available private cloud solutions
Execute launch readiness activities to ensure successful product release cycles for Microsoft.
Participate in other activities outside of job scope that contribute and create value for Microsoft.
Environmental Compliance- All Microsoft employees have environmental responsibilities, to help achieve its broad environmental objective established in the Environmental Management System (EMS) and must understand their roles and responsibilities to ensure successful implementation of the Environmental Principles and the EMS.
Experience with designing and implementing network architectures that include WAN to server communication.
Excellent IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP/Routing protocols (i.e., OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS).
Comprehensive troubleshooting skills across the OSI layer (Routing, Switching, and Firewall).
Experience with designing and implementing application load balancing (LTM/HLB).
Experience in enterprise automation using PowerShell, C#, or equivalent.
Ability to work as a team player including mentoring and sharing of knowledge.
Experience with large Datacenter deployments.
Ability to take projects from beginning to end with little direct supervision.
Ability to work effectively across teams to drive business and technology decisions.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Desire to learn new skills.
5 years of experience working as a Network Engineer.
Experience working in a secure datacenter environment.
Experience with design for global availability (GTM, DNS, Anycast, IP Management)
Solid understanding of network and computer security compliance standards and protocols.
Experience working with Azure or AWS networking technologies.
