Job Duties and Qualifications
Job Duties:
- Under direct supervision, receives, tests, prepares, and repairs downhole cable for submersible pumps and motor equipment for use in the field.
- Receives cable from field or manufacturer and carries out tests to ensure proper function in the field.
- Performs grounding tests, locates bad spots, and makes repairs.
- Will splice additional cable if required on a motor lead and add to surface cable.
- Conducts weekly inventories on all cable in the yard and complete necessary paperwork.
- Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
- Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes.
Qualifications:
- Requires completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of six months experience, preferably as a Cable Technician I.
- The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required.
- Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
