The Microsoft 365 FastTrack Security team performs security assessments, penetration testing and design reviews of the service to make sure that the FastTrack service meets the highest possible security standards. The security team has an exciting opportunity for a Service Engineer who is technically strong, thrives in DevOps, and is passionate about security engineering and building efficiency into all solutions. You will be responsible to perform investigations and driving investments in complex areas; including reviewing application code and infrastructure for security issues, designing and delivering security tooling & automation. You will be part of a diverse team responsible for identifying security risk in the applications and infrastructure in support of the FastTrack Center.

Success Metrics:

  • Reduction in code risk – Identify vulnerabilities in existing code and architectural designs, provide mitigation guidance to the Dev teams and drive best practices in developing secure coding procedures
  • Reduction in human actions – Reduce manual effort in execution of security operation and assessment workflows with tooling and automation by 33% (add measurable increase in efficiency for the security team audit and risk identification efforts)
  • Attention to quality and engineering excellence – Code and solutions delivered should be based on secure coding practices with minimum breaking bugs
  • Positive impact on the overall risk profile of the organization by demonstratable reduction in risk score (code plus design)
Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Perform application design and code reviews to identify vulnerabilities and provide architectural/software guidance to engineering teams to mitigate security risks
  • Design and develop security tooling for risk detection and prevention
  • Design and deliver automation of manual workflows (Security Ops)
  • Stay relevant with emerging exploits and security principles
  • Partner with engineering, program management and operations personnel within the FT organization and other cross group teams to suggest and implement security improvements to processes and technologies
Qualifications

Minimum Qualification: 

  • 2 yrs. experience in developing and writing production code in C#, .NET and Web Dev
  • 1 yr. Experience with securing application and infrastructure in Azure or cloud-based infrastructure
  • 2 yrs. experience in identifying security vulnerabilities in production applications and infrastructure

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of SDLC to ensure that the dev teams adheres to standards and best practices
  • Solid communication and collaboration with all areas of the team (PM, Dev, Test, Security, Ops)
  • Strong security mindset, spec writing and design skills
  • Strong coding and problem-solving skills
  • Dealing with ambiguity and able to ramp up new technologies and new problem domains fast
  • Server and/or service experience is a plus
