The Business Development Manager will have proven strategy and business development experience winning business on large State and Local government programs with values exceeding $25M. The Business Development Manager will coordinate and manage all business development activities including capture activities, pipeline management and prioritization, growth strategy development and implementation that focus on growing the organization. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for daily interaction with State and Local Government program offices, acquisition officials and major Systems Integrators based in the US as well as working with internal engineering, marketing, and partner teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support face-to-face customer meetings with senior management and C-Level Executives
• Create and lead strategic efforts to identify new market space for Microsoft
• Identify large, multi-year deals and develop relationships with associated key business decision makers
• Build & Maintain Relationships within Partners – Understand the System Integrator business model and sales cycle
• Develop and execute account client call plans
• Consistently provide accurate strategic pipelines forecasts of large deals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Coordinate closely with sales, marketing, engineering and communications to lead new business initiatives

Qualifications

The Business Development Manager should have extensive experience working with strategic State and Local organizations and should be deeply familiar with the organizational makeup, core missions and strategies of mission systems and government information technology environments. Knowledge of and work experience with Government agencies, specific Government programs, and the Government sales cycle as it relates to large mission support capture pursuits is considered mandatory.

 

15 years of experienced, professional leadership and communicator who is comfortable in front of large groups as well as senior government and industry personnel and should have a good understanding of Microsoft solutions and associated technologies, particularly Cloud. Preferred qualifications include: 15+ years technology sales experience working with the US Government; strong expertise with enterprise solutions; exceptional leadership, negotiation, organizational, creative, presentation, written and verbal communication skills; the position may require 15-50% domestic travel with occasional international travel.
