Our Software Quality Engineering team ensures that our next-generation software is of the highest quality. We conduct a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that our software meets or exceeds end-user requirements. We debug software products, oversee the development of test plans, ensure system tests are documented, analyze the results, write automated test scripts using the existing automation framework, help in enhacing test automation framework, provide feedback to developers and make sure that all problems are resolved and all platforms are covered. We also select testing specifications for new products and ensure testing procedures comply with industry-specific standards.

The Systems Management team is responsible for all configuration management and monitoring functions of Data Domain (Dell-EMC) systems. This includes building and maintaining manageability infrastructure such as; System Management service, REST API infrastructure, CLI infrastructure, Database infrastructure, Interface applications, Licensing infrastructure for Data Protections appliance, Daemons to run workflow operations asynchronously, design and development of management interfaces, and capabilities to plug-in to third party management frameworks. In addition to this, other responsibilities include running/maintaining standalone services in a scaleout environment, and integrating the services with other Data Protection component services,

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with cross functional teams for testing System Management solution on Data Domain (Dell-EMC) and Data Protection products
  • Familiar with Agile environment.
  • Help in expanding test coverage in different supported platforms
  • Driving discussions with cross-functional teams for ongoing process improvements
  • Planning and maintenance of lab infrastructure (physical, virtual) required to support manual and automation test efforts
  • Work with teams to come up with test plans, test cases and test execution for new and existing features
  • Work with product teams to automate test cases, in an Agile fashion, and run these test scripts for regression on different Data Protection appliances.
  • Work with support teams, scrum teams and product management teams

Essential Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in software QA and feature test methodologies is desired
  • 2+ years of experience in QA test automation environments
  • Experience in Unix (Linux, Windows) environment
  • Coding experience with one or more scripting languages Perl, Python, Ruby, etc...
  • Experience with C/C++ on any flavor of UNIX is a plus
  • Understanding of block and/or file system storage concepts
  • Knowledge about virtualized technology (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to code/debug more complex programs using either written or verbal design specifications
  • Able to achieve mastery of new tools and languages with training and on-the-job experience
  • Able to understand and follow software lifecycle methods Understands tradeoffs between hardware and software interactions
  • Should be a team player who likes to work in a high-energy atmosphere.
