About the Position-

The primary responsibility of the Developer Community Manager is to build the developer community for our Community Edition (CE) product & drive the wider developer community conversation around security – with the goal of making CE the #1 for application developers and ensuring those already developing on CE have the best possible experience.

The Developer Community Manager sits within our Marketing team and spends the majority of their time in outbound efforts to work with the community. It’s a unique role working with the global community of developers. Candidates will be hands-on Growth Hackers and will have a desire and capability to represent CE as public facing brand ambassadors. This position is ideal for Marketers who want to stay technically sharp and focus on cutting edge growth hacking strategies/tactics/channels (both online & offline) to amplify the CE product offerings to target audiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Engagement - Direct engagement of the developer community through meetups, roadshows, boot camps, hackathons, lectures, training and other channels of education.
  • Community Support - Facilitate a great experience with CE for developers at scale with broad reach channels such as Slack, video conference, Github, Stack Overflow and other forums.
  • Community development - Foster a healthy community globally through user group support and a CE Champions program.
  • Digital Marketing – Identify relevant top of funnel acquisition channels & develop/execute/manage PPC, paid + display for retargeting/remarketing.
  • Content - Create digital content to engage the developer audience through social media, videos, blog posts and documentation.
  • Samples and demos - Help showcase CE capabilities with samples and demos that the community at large can leverage.
Qualifications:
  • Growth skills - A talent for driving growth through freemium offerings and user conversions.
  • Marketing skills – Growth hacking expertise to identify, test, measure performance for impactful success.
  • Presenting skills - The ability to present complex technical ideas to developers and often non-technical audiences.
  • Writing skills – Write strong, effective marketing/technical content (emails, white papers, reports, blogs, etc) for external audiences with a balance of technical acumen, strategy, & clear messaging.
  • Curiosity - Experience of working with B2B IT/SaaS is essential with a demonstrated curiosity about the technology and its impact are critical.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
