    Waters is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of a Mass Spectrometry Sales Specialist. Responsibilities include driving sales of our Mass Spectrometer product line including tandem quadrupole and time of flight instruments - as well as promote solutions across all product lines including LC, Software, consumables and Services, for the region.


    The desired candidate should be a self starter in developing and implementing a Territory Business Plan working in unison with their assigned account managers, specialists and marketing colleagues in delivering an aggressive call cycle and business development activities. The foundation of the Mass Spectrometry Sales Specialist role is to develop a keen understanding of the customers’ needs and challenges, designing solutions with lasting and meaningful business impact to our customers.


    This region will cover Pennsylvania, Western Upstate New York, and Northern West Virginia.

    • Meet or exceed sales targets
    • Maintain installed base customer satisfaction
    • Aggressively develop new prospects and penetrate competitive accounts
    • Visit customers on a daily basis to highlight Waters solutions and help customers with their technical challenges and to meet their objectives
    • Build technical competency on Waters solutions and to be recognized by customers as a credible resource
    • Keep current on markets dynamics, application trends, and competitive information
    • Provide information to marketing team to create business development programs
    • Fully utilize of our Sales Contact Management Tools and Applications
    • Submit accurate and timely monthly sales forecasts
    • Develop business through monthly plan of action


    • Minimum BS in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or related field. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
    • Strong technical background in analytical technologies, including LC and MS. 
    • 3 years mass spectrometry experience including quadrupole and time of flight mass spectrometry.
    • Previous field sales or marketing experience preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal skills including strong presentation skills. 
    • Action orientation and self-driven for results
    • Strong time management skills, including organization/planning. 
    • Reliable, positive attitude and strong sense of commitment
    • Adaptive to dynamic and changing environment
    • Travel in the assigned territory, as well as attend meetings , trade shows and conferences
