The Associate Manager, Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering will manage a Manufacturing Engineering team through process sustainment activities and continuous improvement project as well as lead a team of maintenance technicians through all preventative and routine maintenance actions needed for equipment located in Integrated Manufacturing (CNC machine shop). This is an onsite position located in Kalamazoo, MI.
What You Will Do:
- Manage directly the activities of the Manufacturing Engineering team assigned to Integrated Manufacturing (CNC machine shop)
- Sustain the manufacturing processes for existing products through resolution of issues such as tooling obsolescence or expired fixturing.
- Drive continuous improvements for processes which improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), reduce scrap, and provide cost savings.
- Lead change management activities related to day-to-day business activities.
- Partner with EHS team to maintain adherence to existing requirements and implement new as required.
- Provide operations IT support (hardware & software) for machining equipment and inspection devices.
- Support procurement process for equipment and tooling.
- Manage directly the activities of the machine maintenance team assigned to Integrated Manufacturing (CNC machine shop)
- Provide hands on management of installation, preventive maintenance and repair/improvement of machining equipment
- Research, design and implement new technology to improve equipment performance and quality to the customer
- Maintain and continuously improve use of the preventive maintenance program
- Read and interpret schematics/equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Assure all safety regulations are followed and maintain clean and orderly work areas
What You Need:
- 6+ years of CNC machining and programming experience required
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T) related to component manufacturing.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
- People management experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical, electrical and industrial fabrication
- Understanding and support of continuous improvement
- Knowledge of PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic design and repair
