Infrastructure Reliability Engineering Team

The Network group within Infrastructure Reliability Engineering is responsible for the strategy, architecture, design, support, availability, and reliability of Visa Inc.'s credit and debit commercial networks (i.e. VisaNet), the enterprise corporate network, the global wide area network and the extranet/Internet networks. This individual contributor role is a recognized expert within Visa responsible for contributing to the development of functional strategy. In this role you will be responsible for solving unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.

Essential Functions

  • Provide technical coordination, oversight, and leadership for staff and serve as escalation point for complex technical issues
  • Plan and implement continuous support of high complexity network systems in extranet, commercial, and corporate environments to meet business needs
  • Design appropriate solutions based on environment, create detailed network designs, assess and test new and evolving technologies for performance and cost benefits
  • Provide second-level technical support to Visa client institutions and internal technical teams to resolve network issues and support the implementation of new network solutions
  • Build and maintain relationships with global and virtual teams, as well as third parties, on network development or support issues
  • Lead development, testing, and QA functions to ensure that projects are delivered securely and fulfill expectations
  • Provide the highest level of technical consultancy to ensure problem resolution is achieved in the shortest possible timeframe
  • Develop processes and procedures for use by the Network team and third parties in the management of network environments
  • Position solutions and create a roadmap to effectively gain buy-in from all stakeholders
  • Deliver recommendations to management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Less than 6 months of relevant work experience with either Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, graduating May 2025 - August 2026.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Comfortability with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, APIs)
  • Experience working in a hybrid cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure, and/or Kubernetes with networking focus preferred)
  • Exposure to various network tools such as SevOne, Netscout, Netbrain, or SDN technologies such as Versa SD-WAN
  • Experience developing and leading AI initiatives to enhance network automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent incident response
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex systems and network environment issues
  • Eagerness to work in a complex organization to determine business and customer needs, providing the most tailored solutions possible
  • ITIL certification preferred with good understanding of change, incident, and problem management processes

Additional Information

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary for a new hire into this position is $94,000 USD which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

This is a hybrid position: Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time. 

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
