Working in an environment that’s as complex as it is critical, our Buyer team within Materials and Procurement manages a group of indirect categories, such as real estate, marketing material, supplies or software. We use our in-depth knowledge and experience to develop strategic relationships with external suppliers as well as with key stakeholders. Our role also includes leading contract negotiations, managing risk, driving cost-saving initiatives and implementing strategic sourcing best practices.

Responsibilities include

-Participates in the global supply chain procedures to assure material continuity and achieve high standards of operational excellence

-Works to align internal workflow and supplier demand

- Ensures product availability to MRP demand

- Establishes new fulfillment processes with new suppliers and new locations based on business requirements

-Applies standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques

-Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems moderately complex in scope

-Uses judgment within defined practices and procedures

-Work is reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy

-Contributes to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives

-Primarily intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters


2+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent experience

Understanding of demand supply to include: seasonality, Q/Q and Y/Y growth rates, market share goals, price position (WAPP), product life cycle, marcom, sales contests, margin and promotions.

Knowledge of order management and fulfillment concepts and processes.

Knowledge of forecast methodologies.

Knowledge of financial management concepts, including product line P&L.

Knowledge of Dell’s Master Sales Plan Forecast Process.

Effective relationship building skills.
