You will: 

  • Lead and coordinate work assignments for a sub-team of staff responsible for providing architecture services to a portion of the enterprise while setting the tone for a customer-centric team culture that includes high levels of communication and engagement with customers and partners. 
  • Provide team leadership, mentoring to direct reports, and quarterly feedback to Manager/Director, reporting on sub-team deliverables, providing recommendations on sub-team workload and prioritization, and ensuring quality and timeliness of all team deliverables under general supervision. 
  • Lead the development and delivery of quality architectural artifacts (“Blueprints”) that clearly consistently and concisely capture the key components of a business capability. 
  • Provide expertise to guide the definition, development and adherence to standards and procedures that foster reusability, agility and progress towards the desired enterprise architecture future state. 
  • Provide expertise and consultative services regarding the integration of applications across the business. 
  • Oversee the development of Architecture Models and Documentation (key written project deliverable) and/or oversee and approve the creation of architecture documentation. 
  • Collaborate with the broader architecture leadership community to provide input into IT strategies and standards. 
  • Provide expertise and knowledge in emerging technologies and assist in determining possible application to the business. Provide leadership in architecture working groups that includes architects from various technical domains. 

Hiring Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of progressive experience in a combination of IT development, design and/or architecture disciplines, with at least 3 years of direct infrastructure, information, system, application and/or other solution architecture experience 
  • If no degree, then 12 years as listed above. 
  • Requires previous experience formally leading technical teams, projects and complex technical work with proven success in the design and delivery of quality scalable IT solutions on time, on budget and in compliance with applicable requirements. 
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technical integrations, technologies, and processing environments. 
  • Strong experience in solution design principles and practices, system development methodologies, and software life cycles. 
  • Experience coordinating vendor solution delivery and partnering effectively with vendors to meet business needs. 

Hiring Preferences 

  • Prefer candidates with a technically-oriented degree. 
  • Experience in multiple architecture disciplines is preferred. An architecture certification is a plus. 
  • Prefer candidates with knowledge and understanding of: Regulatory and legislative impact on health plans, specifically HIPAA requirements placed on cloud tenants; Health insurance and plan administration 
  • Strong leadership skills, including team leadership and overall work organization/coordination. 
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills required. 
  • Effectively manage multiple streams of complex tasks, deliverables, and issues. 
  • Drive completion of projects on time and to budget 
  • Delegate where appropriate, and maintain open and honest communication with all levels of management 
  • Provide outstanding customer service to stakeholders, peers, and management. 
  • The ability to balance tactical and strategic work is required. 
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge of industry best practices for application design, analysis and/or architecture.
