  • Demonstrate professional conduct and exercise the highest levels of judgement, ethics, and discretion at all times
  • Display a deep understanding and expertise in conducting digital investigations, including the presentation of written investigative findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Interact with high level stakeholders and BMS leaders to provide investigative findings and to explain the connections between discovered artifacts and other facts in the matter under investigation
  • Provide timely and objective reporting on matters involving potential criminal violations or potential civil liability
  • Represent Cybersecurity in discussions with cross-functional teams on sensitive company matters
  • Ensure that company, privacy and regulatory requirements are complied with in all activities involving investigations

    Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Work with various stakeholders in Corporate Security, Compliance & Ethics, Human Resources, Employee Relations and the Law Department to acquire, preserve, and analyze digital evidence in a global environment
  • Conduct computer and e-mail related investigations in response to escalated alerts or other investigative referrals
  • Gather, analyze, store, and preserve evidence in a forensically sound manner
  • Utilize proper chain of custody procedures throughout the life of the investigation in contemplation of potential civil or criminal litigation
  • Participate as a technical expert in employee interviews and questioning when required
  • Manage configuration and deployment of all digital forensic applications in the digital forensics lab
  • Support backend infrastructure for all lab applications including engagement with vendor technical support teams when required
  • Conduct research and benchmarking analysis on various digital forensic investigation tools and applications for process improvements
  • Assist with continuous improvement of computer investigation processes, procedures and best practices
  • Advise Cybersecurity and BMS IT as needed on evolving technologies and planning for technology improvement
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity team and multiple stakeholders across BMS IT in furtherance of organizational objectives

  • Skills

Required:  Extensive practical knowledge of the following is required:

  • Microsoft Office 365 Security & Compliance Center
  • Microsoft’s suite of user based applications including Office documents and Office 365 (OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Skype) and techniques to identify and preserve data in connection with digital forensic investigations
  • EnCase or similar digital forensics applications for imaging, analysis, and reporting
  • Preservation, collection, and analysis of  various digital media including storage devices
  • Proper evidence handling procedures and creation of chain of custody documentation
  • Various operating systems including Windows 10 and Mac OSX as they pertain to conducting forensic investigations
  • Various file systems including NTFS, FAT and APFS
  • Operation of employee-based monitoring applications
  • Networking and data communication terminology
  • User behavior analytics tools (Securonix preferred)
  • Knowledge of data loss prevention technologies

    Preferred:  Experience or familiarity with the following is preferred:

  • E-mail review platforms such as RelativityOne
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools
  • Various write-blocking technologies such as Tableau and WeibeTECH
  • Mobile device forensics, including preservation, acquisition and analysis (Cellebrite preferred)
  • Various cloud based technologies as they relate to general use and investigative activities
  • Encryption technologies
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems preferred
  • Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE)
  • Problem solving and deductive reasoning skills
  • Understanding of attorney-client privilege and establishment of “clean room” reviews
  • Communication and presentation skills

    Education & Experience:

  • 5 years minimum experience in computer forensics investigations and technologies required
  • Bachelor’s degree or concentrated study in Computer Forensics, Computer Science or equivalent computer forensics certifications preferred, including but not limited to: EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), IACIS Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) or Certified Cyber Forensics Professional (CCFP)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred
  • Experience interacting with members of law enforcement and outside counsel preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and global privacy regulation preferred
  • Experience in Pharmaceuticals and/or Healthcare IT industries or law enforcement preferred
