The IoT and Mixed Reality sales team plays a critical role in achieving this mission. We’re positioned right at the intersection of customers, hardware partners and channel partners.  We work closely with our external ecosystem and internal business groups to deliver amazing device to cloud customer experiences. Responsibilities

The impact you will be making:

  • (50%) Drive customers and partners to the technical decision on our services for Azure IoT, Edge and Sphere (Edge to Cloud). You will directly support the market share and revenue growth of Microsoft Azure and IoT Platform through your technical specialism in designing and implementing mission critical solutions for our customers and partners. You will be required to give technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops and architecture design sessions, proof of concepts/value and pilots to explain, demonstrate and prove to our priority customers and partners the capabilities of Microsoft’s products and services and how we can make their business more successful. You will drive resolutions for technical, competitive and security blockers to accelerate IoT solution sales and customer usage. You will be responsible for owning the win of the technical decision at customers (and partners) for sales opportunities and usage scenarios, through tailoring your message, bringing ideas, engaging with them to show our technology differentiation and guiding them into decision making. Develop expertise in key commercial IoT markets, such as Industrial Automation and Manufacturing, Healthcare, Smart Buildings, Smart Retail, Security and Surveillance, Transportation and Energy to effectively engage the partners and help building the IoT solutions.  Develop and leaning-in on a strategic engagement with core Microsoft IoT accounts, in close partnership with our Azure IoT sales specialists.
  • (30%) Being a vital connection and orchestration point for a variety of technical resources. By orchestrating complex solutions with internal and external partners for multiple Microsoft products and services. Helping identify and diagnose technical, architectural, and competitive blockers and respective solutions for sales opportunities and usage decision blockers, helping to ensure that these solutions are implemented. You will be actively sharing knowledge with customers and partners to drive the sale, deployment and adoption of Microsoft solutions. With your expertise you will shape current and future products and services, marketing strategies and customer centricity ideas by sharing your feedback with a variety of stakeholders.
  •  (20%) Technical thought leadership. You will be the thought leader in the IoT space, sharing your expertise, coaching others and leading by example across technical communities. We encourage all our technical specialists to keep their technical IoT expertise up to date, embracing cross-workload knowledge, professional skills, sales and business acumen and competitive readiness.  Obtaining and maintaining Azure certifications will be part of the requirement.  
Qualifications

Who we are looking for:

We’re looking for a passionate and competent IoT Solutions Technical Specialist (TS) with industry experience to join our EMEA team. Our team is proficient in understanding our customers and partners' technical needs and developing a mutually beneficial business value with them. You will engage in a complimentary manner with our customers and work with our sales to build deep relationships with our customers, accelerating and enabling their end-to-end IoT solution creation and deployment, powered by both Microsoft and 3rd-party / open-source technologies.  The right candidate understands the importance of good time management, understands how to set realistic expectations with the customer/partner and can quickly assess the capabilities required for the customer/partner involved in creating the solution. This role will be focused on driving technical pre-sales with customers/partners in Microsoft’s Western-Europe region, specifically Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal. Travel will be required. Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge: 

  • Technical Solution Expert: The expertise and ability to integrate complex elements and customer requirements into innovative technical architectures in the Internet of Things space integrating with the customers/partners architecture required
  • Cloud Trust. High-level expertise in sophisticated identity, authentication, security, privacy, and compliance requirements, and experience integrating them into cloud and hybrid solutions required
  • Technical breadth. Enterprise customer level experience with cloud, hybrid infrastructures and adjacent technologies, architecture designs, migrations and industry standards required
  • Technical depth. Domain authority, having enterprise customer level technical experience with design, configuration and implementation of IoT solutions as well as competitive product knowledge required
  • Community builder. Understand capabilities of, strategically be able to work with, influence cohesively, build and grow, customers, members of the Microsoft sales, services and marketing organisations, internal and external communities and partners required
  • Excellent Communicator. Strong people negotiation, organizational, presentation, deep technical product demo, writing and verbal communication skills
  • Market maker. Strong leadership to influence key technical decision makers and or boards required.
  • Consultative Technical Selling and Challenger mindset. Validated experience in consultative technical selling approach, including brining innovative ideas to customers’ problems and being customer focused required
  • Growth Mindset. Experience and passion for learning (technical and soft skills); implementing practices from others; trying, failing and learning and sharing best practices and knowledge for other’s benefit required

Profile

  • IoT 5+ years of sales technical sales experience with a track record in high tech industry
  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise and solution based consulting or technical sales
  • Undergraduate degree preferred, in Computer Science, Electric Engineering or a related technical field, or relevant work experience
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of teamwork and high performing team
  • Experience engaging C- and senior-level technical stakeholders
  • Strong planning and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously
  • Experience in project management, feature definition and design and feasibility assessment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, planning and drive for results competencies
  • Passionate about partners and customers to build creative and innovative solutions.
    • Industry experience and deep IoT / M2M market knowledge in specific vertical industries such as Industrial Automation and Manufacturing, Healthcare, Smart Buildings, Energy, Security and Surveillance, and Retail.
    • Experience in IoT market in a technical or technical sales capacity is a great advantage, including an understanding of partner ecosystems and the ability to leverage partner solutions to solve customer needs.
    • Capable of effectively navigating complex business challenges in ambiguous settings with solid judgment and risk management
    • Presentation skills to explain and educate others both internal and external, at all level of an organization.
