The Director or Marketing leads the marketing strategy and vision for the EMEA team that tie into the organization's objectives and goals while collaborating and working closely with global Marketing teams at Workiva. This individual is highly knowledgeable with expertise in all things related to marketing strategy planning and market analysis as well as tiering and go-to-market strategy focused on demand generation. The Director of Marketing manages a team composed of Marketing Managers prioritizing demand generation activities integrated into Workiva's EMEA go-to market strategy. This position is responsible for implementing marketing development programs both short and long range that are targeted toward existing and new markets. The Director of Marketing provides support to marketing and sales areas, supporting existing and identifying emerging market opportunities, and focusing sales efforts to achieve revenue goals by solution, market and industry categories.

What You'll Do:


  • Provides ongoing mentoring, coaching and feedback to support optimal performance and development
  • Leads and mentors the Marketing team to ensure best practice standards are being followed
  • Develops major goals and objectives for marketing channels, audits existing standards and protocols, and ensures constant process improvements and growth
  • Identifies and resolves interpersonal conflicts and resource issues
  • Demonstrates the charisma and assessment capability to attract top talent
  • Builds strategic relationships with leaders across the organization

Marketing Strategies:

  • Defines quarterly targets, metrics, go-to-market strategies and plans across Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to make sure that the company is equipped to meet plan targets and expectations
  • Collaborates with the global Marketing team on identifying total addressable and serviceable market, buyer personas at the solution level to enable effective marketing demand generation and sales conversion
  • Leverages market data to develop content themes and topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support a point of view and educate customers that leads to critical behavioral metrics
  • Works with global content marketing team to develop content across EMEA marketing materials
  • Conducts periodic competitive audits
  • Ensures consistent global experience and implement appropriate localization and translation strategies
  • Develops Strategy and Leads Demand Generation:
  • Designs and drives lead generation strategy by working closely and liaising with the Field marketing managers as well as Sales and leadership teams across the region
  • Ensures that all lead and demand generation and nurturing programs align with the strategic goals of Workiva
  • Provides forecasting models and maintains demand generation budget

What You'll Need

  • Ability to lead and inspire teams of creative personnel and content creation and distribution strategies and tactics
  • Excellent work ethic and time management skills


  • 7-10 years industry experience managing a marketing strategy plan at a SaaS company
  • Experience with managing a team of marketers
  • Prior experience working with and supporting a Sales team preferred
  • Proven track record of developing marketing strategy, managing systems and processes and overseeing budgets
  • Experience with product launches and go-to-market strategy
  • Experience working with a geographically distributed team is preferred


  • Degree in marketing, business, or similar area of study preferred
