MS Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business. The department is comprised of 10 organizations: Sales, Banking & Corporate-Client Technology, Investment Products & Markets Technology, Client Reporting, Core Processing, Private and International Wealth Management Technology, Technology Integration Office, Enterprise Infrastructure & Production Management, Capital Markets Application & Data Services, Deployment Planning & Release Management, and the Chief Operating Office. Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology works with large scale databases such as DB2 and SQL Server, proprietary and non-proprietary messaging software, a broad variety of vendor products, numerous financial exchanges and regulatory entities, and programming languages



  • Support and direct communications with management within the Investment Product Technology team.
  • Coordinate communication plan with Product, Ops and Tech key stakeholders
  • Coordinate ongoing status reports/steering committee meetings and provide detailed meeting minutes for all stakeholders
  • Track ongoing risk / issues control
  • Assist in managing initiatives / programs during the execution, monitor and control phases and program management disciplines (integration, scope, time, cost, etc.)
  • Document functional specifications via User Stories and functional requirements document (FRD)/Technical Design Document (TDD), UAT testing, developing test cases, use cases, JIRA stories, flow diagrams to help bridge business requirements to the development team as applicable by project
  • Develop Test documentation such as Test Estimations, Test Plans, Test Cases Design, Test Cases Execution, analyzing Test Results, Test documentation and Test Metrics
  • Coordinate Defect resolution – steer defect triage meetings with all stakeholders, analyze the Business requirements, find gaps in requirements and track for resolution
  • Demonstrate capability of distilling details from complex business requirements into accurate and precisely specified functional, technical specifications
  • Maintain deliverables to schedule, ability to adapt to changes in requirements and priorities, be a self-starter, show initiative, ability to work on multiple projects at the same time prioritizing as appropriate
  • Act in a coordination role with business users, internal and external application development teams, DBA, and Q/A groups
  • Interact with technical and support teams to assist in prototyping, design and planning of test cases
  • Be capable of applying business judgement to create solid business practices, methodologies as well as recommendations and procedures for the technology teams
