MediaVax is a start up company developing solutions to address the widespread problem of disinformation on social media. We use machine learning to quickly analyze and rate the credibility of social media posts.

Combining disinformation expertise with machine learning and predictive methods from epidemiology, MediaVax mitigates the exploding social pandemic of unreliable information with real-time threat intelligence. Our user-friendly products complement manual fact checking with proactive search, building trust in content.

Led by a female CEO, with a global team of data scientists and Advisors with backgrounds in Fortune 500 companies, MediaVax is currently rolling out a demo of its capabilities. We're looking for a data engineer to join us on a part time contract basis, but eventually could turn into full time position.

Data Engineering and Machine Learning Operations

-Support Senior Data Scientists, using your experience in software engineering, data systems, and machine learning to build Machine learning Application/API and deployment to AWS Cloud environment.

-You will also work closely with the Data Scientists to design and develop data pipelines and frameworks to help automate workflows and improve efficiency

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build End to End distributed ML Applications
  • Improve Performance and scalability for existing API
  • Data pipeline architecture
  • CI/ CD and automation
  • Extend existing ML libraries and frameworks
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field
  • Working directly with the product owner, data scientist in the team and end-users
  • Plan, provision, and manage cloud environments, code repositories, and build production environments
  • Bring in high levels of work ethic and ownership on work responsibilities, dedication, and lead-from-the-front attitude to develop scalable products
What You’ll Bring:
  • 1-3 years of experience in ML Ops
  • Expertise in AWS cloud ecosystem, especially in the area of Data Engineering
  • Experience in Design, build, test, and maintain machine learning infrastructure to empower data scientists to rapidly iterate on model development
  • Develop continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines on top of AWS such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, EC2
  • Expertise in building API
  • Understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning, and data processing tools
  • Ability to write robust code in Python
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries
  • Excellent communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to work in a team

  • Comfort working with a small team wearing multiple hats, and able to effectively multitask with sometimes concurrent priorities
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
