The Global Trade Compliance Director will provide strategic leadership and execution of Nike’s Global Trade Compliance Framework, driving and enabling trade compliance excellence across the organization as defined by adherence to applicable US, EU, Greater China and other applicable laws and regulations pertaining to international trade as well as ensuring compliance with Nike’s corporate, divisional and local policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Nike’s Global Trade Community in growing and improving our Compliance Framework, including Strategy, Policy, Process and Assessments. Facilitate directional alignment across GEOs and Territories.
  • Drive the framework for our outstanding trade compliance program, procedures and internal controls. Use Nike’sE2E Product, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance processes to optimize compliance efficiency and cost
  • Drive global standardization of Nike’s trade processes and standard operating procedures. Support GEOs and Territories in developing efficient, effective and appropriate work procedures to support compliance with applicable import and export regulations
  • Lead Nike’s global Special Trade Programs (STPs), including free trade agreements (FTAs) and other duty mitigation program
  • Lead the FTA factory compliance relationship, including training, execution, KPIs and Metrics
  • Oversee the development and implementation of global compliance training
  • Drive the development and implementation of global trade and Customs self-assessments, gap identification and corrective action
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance for ad hoc shipments process needs executing through Geos/Territories as needed
  • Facilitate Nike’s Trade relationships with Customs Brokers on behalf of Countries of Import through Nike’s approval process
  • Strategic thinking and ability to look ahead and respond proactively - bias for action.
  • Solid presentation, communication and influencing skills, in both written and spoken communication
  • Ability to work with other countries and cultures
  • Strong collaborative leadership style with proven ability to drive change across organizational levels, functions, locations to achieve objectives
  • Ability to work in a complex matrix environment to create buy in and implement processes.
  • Good decision maker with sound judgment
